Good Works Wednesday

An ASB newsletter celebrating ASB progress, programs and people

At Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, we work every day to help individuals build skills and gain access to the information, experiences and resources they need to live the lives they wish to lead. We are an agency for anyone, anywhere on the vision loss continuum and offer education, training, community-based enrichment opportunities and referrals to help them achieve their individual goals.

Orientation Without Mobility

This class enables participants to learn to mentally map a route to and from any destination within the city using compass directions. While walking or using public transit this knowledge will enable a person, sighted or not, to maintain their direction and recover from any misdirection they might make. The Orientation Without Mobility weekly program schedule is listed here:

Monday: Orientation without Mobility

  • 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
  • 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Thursday: Orientation without Mobility

  • 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
  • 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

If any of the participants you work with are interested in this program, they may contact Participant Navigator Lexi Jones at ajones@asb.org to sign up, or call Director of Education and Enrichment Programs Lynn Heitz during her Office Hours on Thursdays from 3 – 4 p.m. for more information.
