Good Works Wednesday
A newsletter celebrating ASB programs, progress and people
At Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, we work every day to help individuals build skills and gain access to the information, experiences, and resources they need to live the lives they wish to lead. We are an agency for anyone, anywhere on the vision loss continuum and offer education, training, community-based enrichment opportunities, and referrals to help them achieve their individual goals.
ASB’s Keeping Up with the Times
In partnership with the Free Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, ASB hosts “Keeping up with the Times,” an informational, social meet-up that encourages participants to become engaged with local, national, and community news and topics. Participants are encouraged to share current events they are particularly interested in and discuss them with others in the group. With the facilitation of ASB and the Free Library, participants are given resources and information to help participants connect with current happenings in their communities and nationally.
Through these winter months as we are all cooped up inside, it is so important to have a community to talk to and socialize with. This group gives participants the opportunity to stay informed about current events, while preventing isolation.
If any of your participants are looking for another outlet to socialize, please consider referring them to Keeping Up with the Times on Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m. Contact Linda Gaffney for more information.
