  • Radio stations, KYW 1060 in Philadelphia and KOMO 1000 in Seattle, interviewed ASB about the Congressional 2-1 Ruling involving paper money being discriminatory to the blind or visually impaired. Both segments ran on May 20th.

  • 6ABC covered the 25th Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on April 30th at the DoubleTree Hotel in Philadelphia.

  • NBC10, CBS3 and KYW NewsRadio covered ASB's 14th Annual Guide Appreciation Day ceremony on April 11th.

  • In March, ASB's Public Relations Officer appeared on Radio Times WHYY and a 30 minute segment on WPAZ-1370 discussing ASB's programs and services.

  • An ASB LED billboard is now on display on both sides of I-95. The billboard will also be displayed in various additional locations in the coming months. The billboard is anticipated to garner at least 10,000 impressions a week.

  • In January, information about Braille Literacy Week was sent to all phillyhealthinfo.org newsletter subscribers in a partnership with The College of Physicians of Philadelphia.

  • In the December 20th edition of the Northwest Philadelphia Tribune, ASB was featured in a front page article.

  • In December, IBM posted a description of the 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony and a link to www.asb.org on their website.

  • In November, a video featuring Donovan McNabb touring ASB was posted on Mr. McNabb's website, www.donovanmcnabb.com, and has received 12,490 viewings to date. The posting also provides a link back to the ASB website, www.asb.org, and an explanation of his support for the agency.

  • KYW Newsradio's afternoon broadcast featured The 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony.

  • On November 2nd the 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony was featured on 6ABC's evening newscast.

  • On November 2nd, ASB hosted its 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony at The Union League of Philadelphia honoring IBM, SEPTA, James Mulvihill, and Erik Weihenmayer.

  • The 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony was listed in the City Suburban News Events section during the week of October 28th.

  • On October 26th, a press conference featuring The Philadelphia Foundation presented ASB with a check for $40,000 was broadcast on 6ABC's evening newscast.

  • The 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony was featured on the PECO Crown Lights building from Ocotber 25th-28th.

  • During the week of October 21st, ASB's Public Relations Officer appeared twice daily on Comcast Newsmakers (CN8) to promote The 48th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony and its honorees.

  • During the week of October 10th, 2007, ASB's Public Relations Officer, appeared twice per day on Comcast Newsmakers promoting the Louis Braille Awards.

  • Patt Lariccia and Joe Smith were featured on Channel 61(WPPX) for a half hour segment. Jessica Cestone and Dolores Ferrara-Godzieba were featured on September 29th.

  • On September 4th, Hands-on-Gardeners was featured on Channel 6's ION newscast.

  • On August 16th, ASB was featured in an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer regarding our award of $40,000 from The Philadelphia Foundation.

  • KYW ran ASB public service announcements during the month of August.

  • Washington Square Post ran a half page ad about ASB's Braille Transcribers Class in its August edition.

  • On August 16th, ASB was featured in The Philadelphia Inquirer's Culture section for being one of only 13 non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia region to receive an unrestricted grant from The Philadelphia Foundation. Nancy Burd, vice president for grant-making services at The Philadelphia Foundation stated that ASB was awarded $40,000 in funding because it was thought to be one of the "highest-performing role models" in its field.

  • In the month of May The Philadelphia Business Journal and The Philadelphia Inquirer featured coverage of the appointment of Kevin Brown (Trigen - Philadelphia Energy Corporation), James Mulvihill (Wills Eye Hospital) and Albert Piscopo (The Glenmede Trust Company) to ASB's Board of Directors.

  • Former ASB client and current ASB volunteer, Lewis White, is featured in an article in the May issue of Milestones Newspaper.

  • NBC10 and 6ABC featured coverage of ASB's 24th Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on April 18th.

  • NBC10, 6ABC, and CBS 3 featured coverage of ASB's 13th Annual Guide Dog Appreciation Day on March 23rd.

  • ASB's Senior Development Officer, Jessica Cestone, and Rehabilitation Program Manager, Patti Lariccia, discussed ASB's programs and services on WFIL-560 Radio in a 30 minute segment which aired on March 4th.

  • ASB's knitting group was featured in a segment on the CN8 program Art Fennell Reports on February 22nd and 23rd.

  • ASB's Director of Braille, Dolores Ferrara-Godzieba, appeared on the CN8 program Newsmakers beginning February 14 through February 20th.

  • On February 6th, ASB's knitting group donated over 50 hand knit "chemo caps" to Jefferson Hospital cancer patients. Coverage of the event was featured on several evening newscasts including: Fox29, NBC10, 6ABC, CN8, and KYW NewsRadio.

  • U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah's visit to ASB during Braille Literacy Week was featured in The Philadelphia Record's January 25th issue.

  • ASB kicked off Braille Literacy Week with a visit from U.S. Congressman and Philadelphia Mayoral candidate, Chaka Fattah. The event was featured in a segment on the Channel 6 (ABC) 6:00pm evening newscast on January 22nd.

  • During the week of January 14th, KYW NewsRadio aired ASB Public Service Announcements promoting Braille Literacy Week.

  • During the month of January, SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) released a Trailpass featuring a different ASB image on each of the 11 versions of the pass.

  • ASB Rehabilitation Manager, Patti Lariccia, appeared on the CN8 program Newsmakers beginning December 20 through December 26th.

  • ASB was featured in a segment on the Channel 6 (ABC) 5:30 newscast on November 29th.

  • ASB was featured in a segment on the Channel 3 (KYW) afternoon broadcast on November 29th.

  • Herb Clarke produced a PSA for KYW NewsRadio promoting the Vision Cup Golf Tournament.

  • John Krug, who is a volunteer in ASB's Radio Information Center for the Blind (RICB) was interviewed on Comcast's Newsmakers about ASB's programs and services. Comcast Newsmakers is a five-minute interview program that airs twice an hour on CNN Headline News.

  • On April 20th, ASB's Volunteer Recognition Luncheon was covered by Channel 6 during their 5:30 newscast.

  • On April 18th, ASB employee Patti Lariccia and her guide dog Kaiser were featured on a segment about guide dogs on CN8's morning program, Your Morning.

  • NBC-10, WPVI-Channel 6, and Fox29 all covered the 11th Annual Guide Dog Appreciation Day on April 6th.

  • On Sunday March 6th, RICB volunteers were featured as Huggins Heroes on the NBC10 7:00am newscast. The story also ran on the 10! Show on Wednesday, March 9th.

  • In March, NBC10 began regular airings of a public service announcement on ASB which was produced by the station.

  • On February 23rd, a segment on ASB volunteers and the Radio Information Center for the Blind (RICB) ran on Fox29 Good Day Philadelphia.

  • On February 19th, ASB's Braille Division was featured on PrimeTime Weekend, produced by Channel 6 news.

  • On January 18, Dolores Ferrara-Godzieba , Director of ASB's Braille Division, was interviewed for Milestones a half hour radio show on WPEN 950AM.

  • On December 20, ASB's client holiday party was featured on news broadcasts on CN8 and 6ABC.

  • The 45th Annual Louis Braille Awards Ceremony received television coverage by CN8 News, NBC10 for their nightly news broadcast as well as their morning show, 10! The Philadelphia Inquirer included it in their society column.

  • On September 9, 6ABC covered ASB's participation in the United Way Day of Caring Activities with employees from Citizens Bank.
