Philadelphia Lighthouse of the Blind...Helping People Adapt

Founded in 1945, The Philadelphia Lighthouse of the Blind is an Endowment Fund created to provide social, cultural and educational opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Every year, the Lighthouse provides personal-use grants to those who have specific needs. Lighthouse funding helps ASB clients obtain such essential items as talking watches, magnifiers, recording devices, money and color identifiers…even computer systems and refurbished Perkins Brailler Machines. Funds can also be given to offset the costs associated with certain recreational activities.

Philadelphia Lighthouse of the Blind also supports recreational opportunities such as the Pennsylvania Lions Beacon Lodge Camp.

Due to funding limitations, we are only considering applications if you are a client of our services, or have been a client within the past five years.
